Name: Themba S DuzeTitle: Regional Coordinator Office location: Cape Town, South Africa Work you do at BRHC: I am currently coordinating two sites in KwaZulu-Natal Province and one site in Eastern Cape Province for the ARV rollout. Education background: Bachelor of Social Science Honors in Industrial Psychology from Rhodes University and Bachelor of Administration in Public Administration and Industrial Psychology from University of KwaZulu Natal (Westville campus). Work history: 3 Years as High School Teacher, Partnership Officer and Deputy National Coordinator for HIV/AIDS Prevention program for Humana People to People. What attracted me to BroadReach: The approach that BroadReach has taken to reach patients directly through its innovative model and its impact. What’s the most interesting experience I’ve had at BroadReach: To see many lives being prolonged and saved as well as working with people from different backgrounds in a team effort.
Name: Niles FriedmanTitle: Director Office location: Washington, DC and Capetown, South Africa Work you do at BRHC: Currently, I’m the Business Process Manager for our HIV/AIDS capacity building program in South Africa. In addition, I’ve acted as the Engagement Manager for consulting projects, supported business development opportunities and managed product testing and evaluation projects. Education background: MPH in Health Policy and Management – Emory University; BA in Zoology/Pre-Medicine – Ohio Wesleyan University. Work history: Director, The Advisory Board Company; Manager, Deloitte Consulting; Research Associate, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); Trauma Technician/EMT, Northwestern Memorial Hospital. What attracted me to BroadReach: The opportunity to leverage my private-sector work experience and apply it toward international healthcare development programs/solutions. In addition, the firm’s young and entrepreneurial environment was immediately engaging. What’s the most interesting experience I’ve had at BroadReach: Developing the strategy, models and business plan for a disease monitoring and surveillance entity in partnership with national government and our private-sector client. Most recently, I’ve found being onsite at our hospitals and clinics truly amazing in that you can tangibly see our impact (and future potential) across the HIV/AIDS capacity building program. back to top |
